my crazy life!

Sorry its been such a long time since i last blogged! ITs a crazy life.. Wow where should i start.. Well since my last blog lot has happened.. We were staying in the Atanta,Ga area for about5 months Then moved to another location which i absolutly loved! It was a huge ranch with an rv park within it. Wasn't a sole around.. A little lonely for Sydnie.. THe first week there was great until the owner flipped her lid over us feeding and touching the horses.. That really made the stay hard cause her hubby would let us go to the horses and do as we pleased.
While in Georgia we got to meet some very differnet ppl.. I guess i say that cuase i look at the way i raise my child and she comes first.. Not beer or other stupid things.. IF we can't do it as a family we won't do it at all.. We got to experiance our first wonderful Tornado.. And let me tell ya it wasn't something i'd do again.. it was the scariest thing ever!!!

I remember that day like it was yesterday! We went out to grab a bite to eat since he worked late and we knew they were calling for servere thunderstorms i thought why not go up the road and try this one resturant.. Well going in to eat it was beautiful outside. white fluffy clouds nothing out of the ordinary!

Well coming out the sky looked so ugly! So we just got in the truck. Not even 2 minutes of backing up it hit! It was hail the size of golf balls.. so we started dow nthe road to the rv park when it got heavier with huge size hail.. so randy said heck with this we're off to my job site where its safe! within minutes it was softball size beatting the crap outta the truck.. we got maybe 1/2mile from the rv park on the interstate.. I was panicing yelling for sydnie to jump outta her carseat and to curl up on the truck floor with a heavy blanket covering her.. i thought for sure it was going to shatter my window... Randy was calm the whole time holding my hand and reasuring me it was going to be ok.. the winds picked up more.. the truck began to rock! I began to cry outta fear not knowing what would come next..

Within half an hr we were moving down the highway with the hail slamming into the truck and wind blowing hard! We finally got to his job site and it was all done with..SO we decided to head back to see what damage had happened..

Pulling into the rvpark was like pulling into alaska! it was covered in hail.. so much hail it looked like 4 inches of snow! As we're driving in we seen broken windows, awnings flipped over the rvs.. People outside helping other ppl cover things up! it was such a mess! Then we come to our rv. which was out in the open.. THoughts were running through my mind wondering how bad it was i seen pieces laying all over! Tears rolled odwn my face wondering is it liveable??

we get out walking around our rv checking it out as i'm walking around i'm taking pics of all the huge pieces of hail and other ppls rvs.. I"m in shock our rv wasnt as bad! OUR rv is a 1993 Travel Supreme 40 ft fiver.. And wow let me tell ya its build like a tank.. We had missing lights, smashed ac cover, roof vents smashed, dryer vent ripped out molding ripped out, and the usual hail damage!
the pin stripping on the rv took a beating from the hail. But other then that it was all fixable within the month!

i'll be posting pix of the damage of our rv and of the other rvs! its so amazing..

Tornado in Atlanta,GA

Well yesterday turned out to be quite a day... Started out good we got together with friends to take the kids roller skating then ended up in the emergency room one of the little girls woke up with a sore neck and i think from roller skating it made it worse.. She is now fine... After sitting in the er for a few hrs we all got home and was getting ready to make dinner or maybe just eat! well as for us we just got done eatting and were getting into the truck when on the way down the road to the rv park we got hit with hail! So we turned around in a hurry to find a safer place then the rv, i felt so bad all my little pets were still in the rv.... After waiting it out on the side of the interstate cuase thats as far as we made it we headed back to the rv park to see the after math while on the way i started taking pix with my phone.. I've never seen such a sight.. It started out windy around 5pm jokingly i said " gee its gonna blow in a bad storm" Well we went into the resturant to eat came out and it looked bad. just thinking it was a thunderstorm we heading back to the rv park! Thats whne it all came about we got about 50 feet into the park when the hail came.. My husband turned our truck around and tried to get us to the job site where he works..

Well the storm came alot faster then the weather station had said there we were stuck on the ramp of the interstate being hit by hail.. Came down as golf ball size hail then got up to the size of soft balls we made Sydnie get out of her seat and lay on the floor of the truck covered in a blanket... It sounded like someone was hitting our truck with a baseball bat! i was so scared.. Never seen anything like it... After about an hr of this we got on the interstate and headed back to the rv park to see that damage.. Once there it looked like it snowed 3 inches.. Everyone was outside helping eachother patch up windows and holes in the roof.. Sadly not everyone made it without damage.. Other ppl in the park had broken skylights, broken windows and more.. i grabbed my camera hoping with little daylight left i could take pix which i did and today i'm planning to get more.. Here i am 7am the next morning going on no sleep cuase i was still worked up and worried.. i watched the news until 2am i think i dose off for an hr then my dog woke me having to go out.. i'll be taking more pics today since its light out and seeing what more damage was done.. Thing that blows me away is we have our satelite out in the open on a tripod and it made it! but my ac unit didnt, my dryer vents didnt, our skylights, and all the marker lights on the rv and even where i connect the satelite and phone didnt make it! its really unbelieveable... I'll keep everyone updated on the damages!

The best thing is everyone was safe and no one was hurt! Just our homes!

I'm living the american dream

Today i'm sitting here reading some of the other blogs thinking omg i've been there done that! I look back on the yrs and think of differnet things with what we did and didnt do.. here i am 10 yrs later i have a 5 yr old and how lucky i am to have a great husband and child. We were just back to PA for about 5 wks spending the holiday there and it made me realize how great i got it! I seen just how much ppl hate our life! And truthfully i don't see why. We meet so many ppl out here that would love to just jump and sell there house and leave there jobs and be able to spend everyday with there kids and see the USA. And here i am doing the america dream!

My 5 yr old is homeschooled. and no she's not missing a thing. while in md we went to D.C. and went to all the smithsonians! It was great! Hands on learning! since she was about 3 she could go to a map of the USA and point out all the states we've been too.. She told me today how glad and lucky she is to be albe to do all this. She loves going to all the zoos, musems, and others things we hit along the way while we're in the state! Like now we're in Ga we look up facts about it and she learns things about it! She learned that Allen Jackson grew up right down the road from where we are and that yrs ago before he was famous he worked in kmart warehouse!

I could go on and on what we do. But i won't bore u with that! I am a wife of a traveling millwrighter and i love everything about it! Yes there is days he works hard and the poor guy doesnt get to to anything , then there are jobs thats easy on him and we get to spend tons of time together! but this is our life and we're loving it!

Life in an rv can be hard

I just wanted to say that life wasnt easy those past 10 yrs! Gosh i was such a change! But i love change always have ... When he 1st started this job we weren't married so we had ot get married before we left for the new job! Talk about a fast throw together! LOL oh well we did it... Our first real job away from home ( PA) was in Ohio.. Which was great for me cause we had family there.. Well i had tons to do before we even left i had a good job i had to quit. we just go married so i had to have everything changed for that.. OMG talk about overwhelming! it was but i was so excited to start our own life! At the time we only had a little 27 ft tag along.. Gosh it was so small! LOL Anyway we got to ohio and i got alot closer to our new family ( the ppl on the road become like family). The wives & I would go shopping, do lunch, then later cook dinner and all get togther and eat as one huge family! gosh i miss those days!

We were so young back then and it was scary but yet fun... About 2 months of being there we finally bought another trailer one with a slide. so i was a little more happy! i also was a work camper at the rv park. So that kept me a little busy.. Then about 2 months after buying that rv i went to visit my family and my uncle showed me my dream trailer! ( never thought i'd be calling my husband telling him to come pick it up that same day) LOL! We bought our 40 ft travel supreme fiver.. Omg! to me it was so great and huge! Considering all i had was either small apartments yrs ago or my 27 ft trailer! It had 2 slides oh it was so great for me!

We slowly moved up. from the rv to a bigger truck. I was enjoying my new lifestyle and great new ppl i was meeting! But when things got nuts it wasnt easy! when u have little issues you don't have far to go. We learned to deal with things and to talk it out cause in an rv Lol there isn't much room for disagreements..

I learned to deal with him having to owrk long hard hrs. i went from having him around everywkend to only 3 hrs a day then going straight to bed...

Here we are 10 yrs later and with a 5 yr old. and we're so happy! And still loving our lifestyle!

How it all began!

Where to start! My husband , my daughter & I travel on the road with his job. He is a millwright so he travels fulltime all over the USA. It all started back in 1998 when i went to the laundrymat to do laundry i met this wonderful couple there. I asked them what brought them up to PA. They told me how they travel fulltime in there rv all over the USA. Well i just loved that thought! Wow theres actually a job like that!! Man i needed to get more info. Well after a few hrs of chatting with them they invited us down to there rv so they could meet my hubby.

I went home so excited tell him all this info.. He just laughted at me thinking i was nuts. He told me there is no damn job out there that is worth picking up and moving from job to job! So i bugged him please just go down there and meet them and see what u think. So we did. The next day he went in to give it a shot.. Needless to say we were packing up and moving down to the rv park everyone else was at! Here we are 10yrs later still doing the same job. I still laugh and pick on hom saying gee and u thought i was nuts for talking ot these ppl... We've seen so much and done so much in 10 yrs i cant even being!
